WHO NEEDS TO FILE A FEDERAL INCOME TAX RETURN
You need to file a Federal tax return for 2011 if:
- You are single and under age 65 and your gross income was $9,500 or over.
- You are single and age 65 or older and your gross income was $10,950 or over.
- You are married filing jointly and both are under age 65 and your gross income was $19,000 or over.
- You are married filing jointly and one spouse is age 65 or older and your gross income was $20,150 or over.
- You are married filing jointly and both spouses are age 65 or older and your gross income was $21,300 or over.
- You are married filing separately and your income was $3,700 or over.
- You are head of household and under age 65 and your gross income was $12,200 or over.
- You are head of household and age 65 or older and your gross income was $13,650 or over.
- You are a qualifying widow or widower and under age 65 and your gross income was $15,300 or over.
- You are a qualifying widow or widower and age 65 or older and your gross income was $16,450 or over.
- You had withholding on a W-2 or 1099 and you are due a refund.
